ABOUT ME
Hi!
I’m Marissa, a UX/UI Designer based in San Francisco with a degree in Studio Art.
In my free time, I constantly seek out new experiences to expand my horizons through theater and the arts.
You can find me painting or crafting at home, participating in dance classes, or seeking out plays and musicals to see in San Francisco— the more obscure, the better.
I was born and raised in the Bay Area and attended Whitman College in Washington State. My Art degree turned out to be an advantage starting out in tech when I returned to San Francisco, with my unique, creative point of view landing me my first jobs at Facebook and then Twitter.
While my roles on product operations teams gave me invaluable insights into the corporate tech world, I realized that I needed a career involving more person-to-person interaction.
From there, I made my way to a jack-of-all-trades role as an Operations Coordinator and Event Producer at Metric Theory Digital Marketing.
I found UX as the ideal next step in my career. I’m able to utilize my social nature, natural public speaking skills, and creativity in tandem with my passion for making other’s lives more enjoyable through design.
I enjoy UX because it allows me to wear many hats. Some days I get to be a researcher, some days a designer. As I continue to learn and absorb all things UX, I always savor the opportunity to cross collaborate with every member of the team and stay fresh.
When problems arise, I can step in and fill the gap. I always want to be the person who helps solve the problem with a positive approach.
